Compassion first
Every animal that comes through the door is someone's family. I treat them that way, always.
Prevention over cure
The best care happens before problems arise. I love helping owners build long-term health plans for their pets.
Kind Home Vets is not about replacing your regular vet — it's about giving you something more. A calmer experience, a little more time, and the comfort of having an experienced professional come to you. Some pets find the journey difficult. Some owners find it hard to get away. And sometimes, you simply want that extra level of personal attention for an animal who means everything to you. That's exactly what I'm here for — a premium, unhurried service that fits around your life and puts your pet's wellbeing first.
Hi, I'm Dragos — a veterinary surgeon based in Hove with over seven years of experience working across the United Kingdom. I grew up in Romania with a deep love for animals, and after graduating in Veterinary Medicine in 2019, I made the move to the UK to build my career here. It's been a journey I wouldn't trade for anything.
One of the most meaningful chapters of my career has been providing emergency home visits to pet owners across Manchester and London. Being called to someone's home when their animal is in distress — often late at night, often when owners are at their most anxious and worried — taught me more about genuine veterinary care than any clinic ever could. You learn to stay calm, to think clearly, and above all to communicate with honesty and warmth when a family needs it most. That experience is something I carry into every single consultation.
My earlier years in the UK gave me a broad foundation — working in the field, gaining official veterinary qualifications through the University of Bristol, and later serving as a Senior Veterinary Inspector with the Animal & Plant Health Agency (APHA). In that role I was involved in managing disease outbreak responses, advising farms and operators on biosecurity protocols, and conducting welfare inspections at Heathrow Airport for live animals entering the UK. Working at that level gave me a strong understanding of how disease spreads, how to contain it, and how good biosecurity practices protect not just individual animals but entire communities. It's a perspective that quietly informs everything I do in practice — from how I approach an unwell patient to the advice I give owners about keeping their pets safe. Throughout all of this, clinical work has always been at the heart of what I do and what I genuinely enjoy — whether that's working through a tricky diagnosis, performing surgery, or simply taking the time in a consultation to get things right.
I believe that great veterinary care is about more than medicine. It's about listening, explaining, and building a relationship — with the animal and the person who loves them. If you're looking for a vet who will treat your pet with the same care and attention they'd give their own, I'd love to meet you both.
